Overview
Mondays, September 28 - November 16, 6-8pm ET
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
You’ve spent decades building. Now comes the work of deciding how — and when — to use what you’ve built, and what you want to leave behind.
LEGACY is the final stage of the Plan 2 Prosper curriculum, designed for adults approaching or in retirement who are ready to move from accumulation to stewardship. It is the stage where the financial questions shift from “What should I prioritize?” to “Given what I have, what must I decide — and when?” The decisions here are time- sensitive, deeply interconnected, and often irreversible. The goal of this course is to make them with clarity, confidence, and intention.
This is an eight-week working seminar. Each two-hour session combines focused instruction with hands-on practice: participants work directly with their own numbers, using custom-designed worksheets and spreadsheets — built specifically for this program — where the only job is to plug in your information and let the tools do the rest.
The course opens with the P2P Expense Tracker, a proprietary app developed exclusively for the Plan 2 Prosper curriculum. Participants use it from the very first session to log and understand their real spending — because without knowing what your life actually costs, it is impossible to make the kind of holistic, coordinated decisions this framework is designed to support. That foundation of self-knowledge runs through every session that follows. The Tracker is simple, private, works entirely on your phone without connecting to any outside service, and never shares your data with anyone. It is, by design, the least intimidating financial tool most participants have ever used.
The course then moves through the full architecture of retirement income and financial stewardship: mapping your sources, understanding how taxes interact with withdrawals in ways most people never anticipate, building a withdrawal strategy that holds up when markets don’t cooperate, and navigating the timing decisions around required distributions and charitable giving. A dedicated session on estate planning — trusts, planned giving, and the mechanics of passing resources forward with intention — takes the program beyond retirement income into the deeper question of legacy. From there, the course turns to Social Security and Medicare, longevity risk, and guaranteed income strategies including annuities and QLACs, before culminating in a final integration session where participants bring everything together into a coherent, sustainable retirement income framework.
No financial products are recommended. Everything you need is provided — you bring your numbers and your questions. Participants who completed ALIGN will find that the knowledge they built there becomes the foundation for the deeper, more consequential work of this stage.
Plan 2 Prosper is educational in nature. It does not provide individualized investment, tax, or legal advice and does not recommend specific financial products.
