Continue via Astorga, a town at the crossroads of the Camino de Santiago pilgrims’ route and the Roman Silver Road, to the beautiful city of Leon, our base for the eclipse as it is on the path of totality with the best chances for clear skies. Stay at the beautiful Parador de Leon, a 12th century convent converted into a luxury hotel. View the eclipse from the comfort of the Leyenda del Paramo Winery, and after the eclipse, witness the peak night of the Perseid meteor shower, the strongest meteor shower of the year in the Northern Hemisphere, thanks to the dark skies of our rural location.
